Hello and welcome to my site.
A Clinical Psychologist is a mental health professional who is interested in each person’s experience to help understand what has contributed to the current situation and how to move forwards.
My work draws from a range of specialist therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression and trauma focussed therapy.
Over time I have found that ideas from mindfulness and self- compassion can be extremely helpful when supporting people to navigate through life’s ups and downs, especially people troubled by self-critical or overwhelming thoughts. These are useful strategies to learn to maintain good mental health, similar to doing exercise to improve and maintain our physical health.
It is normal for people to feel anxiety or nervousness when thinking about discussing mental health or approaching a therapist. I believe in offering a highly personal service in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment.
After our initial discussion, and if you wish to continue, we will use our sessions together to work towards clearly defined goals that are tailored to your needs.
