COVID-19 update April 2020: I am offering therapy sessions online using Zoom or by telephone as an alternative to face to face meetings for the time being. For Dyslexia and Autism Spectrum assessments please contact me to discuss. During this time, here is some advice on looking after your well being. Best wishes, Stella
A Clinical Psychologist is a mental health professional who listens carefully and works together with clients as equals. We use knowledge of how humans adapt and cope with challenging situations to help to understand what has contributed to the current difficulties and how to move forwards. My practice includes working with adults, children and families and consultation to professionals.
I use a range of specialist therapies that have strong research evidence. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for post-traumatic stress.
My clients may be navigating life’s ups and downs or may have experienced longstanding difficulties. I have experience in working with people who have been fostered and adopted.
It is normal for people to feel anxiety or nervousness when thinking about discussing mental health or approaching a therapist. I believe in offering a personal service in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment.
After our initial discussion, and if you wish to continue, we will use our sessions together to work towards clearly defined goals that are tailored to your needs.
