Children may have periods of anxiety, difficulties with friendships, school or behaviour problems. There may be family events to navigate such as parental separation or bereavement.
I draw from experience and knowledge of child development, attachment relationships, family systems and evidence based psychological approaches. Usually I would spend the first 2 – 3 sessions meeting with parents and the child together and separately to help understand the situation, and then suggest a plan for future sessions.
For teenagers, I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for stress, anxiety, panic, phobias and depression providing practical strategies that will be helpful through adolescence and onwards.
